It is the cool relative of that classic, the one that knows about all things urban and lit! With the right people, both editions of Scrawl will provide you with laughter and light entertainment. Scrawl is the game Pictionary should’ve been.

Its called Scrawl and its about doodling your way to disaster. By the time it gets back to you, things will have gone horribly wrong. Luckily (or perhaps unluckily), Big Potato have devised a new game to draw it out into the open. Published by Big Potato Games Editorial Reviews of Scrawl Revealing the terrible artist in all of us, players in Scrawl start off with a loaded phrase, doodle it, then pass it on. Pick one of 240 loaded phrases, doodle it and pass it on. For a more "grown up" experience try Scrawl 17+. When the Scrawls have completed a circuit and the players all have back their original cards the hilarious guesses can be revealed and points awarded. Once your doodle is complete you pass your card to the player on your left who then has to guess what you have drawn, writing their guess on a new board placed over the top of your drawing.Įveryone’s guesses then get passed clockwise to the next player who then has to draw what is written on the card, and so on. The funny phrases include things like “Custard Pie Fight”, “Exploding Cuckoo Clock” and “Freezing Your Own Head”. If you prefer adult content in your starting prompts, theres also Telestrations After Dark.

As an alternative, I would recommend Telestrations which is literally the exact same game as Scrawl but with more family-friendly prompts.

The starting phrases are usually completely ridiculous. All you can really do right now is wait for the publisher to print more copies of the game. Imagine Pictionary crossed with Chinese whispers and you’ll be thinking of something similar to Scrawl.Įach player is given a card with a phrase to draw. The family board game where bad drawers are welcome.
